Welcome to the Publishing News Section. On this page there is the orange site Stop Press column as well as links to other parts of the site. If I hear (or am told) of any news relating to hot metal typesetting, etc. I shall also feature them here.
What do you think of this section? Are there any other news categories you would like to see here? Please e-mail your comments.

TAKE THE SURVEY
Please take the time to tell me a little about yourself using the voting box I have recently placed in the Linotype Forum. It only takes a few seconds.
NEW FEATURES
I have recently installed a site search engine (available on the home page).
This indexes the whole site and the Linotype Forum. The index is updated weekly on a Friday.
General Publishing news and Late Breaking news have been added to the Publishing News section.
YOUR PHOTOS
Work has started on this section and new pages should be appearing soon.
If anyone has any composing room pictures that could be used on the site please get in touch.
I would like to include pictures of the last day of hot metal production, unusual machines, etc.
YOUR STORIES
I am very pleased with the stories submitted to this section so far.
It would be nice to get some stories from ex Fleet Street operators.
If there are any out there who could write a story about 'Old Spanish Customs' and 'Ghost Packets' please get in touch.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
I have started a new section in the Linotype Forum for people trying to trace ex-colleagues, etc.
MONTHLY NEWSLETTER
The newsletter is now up and running. It contains, among other things, details of all new postings in the Linotype Forum. If you would like to receive it, please sign up from the Contact Page. You can also click on a link on that page to see the current issue.
THANKS
Thanks to those of you who have responded to my appeal to click on the occasional advert. I am hoping to remove the top banner from the site in the near future.
